Scope

For this design build, RBA transformed a closed off lab into an open and collaborative space for the Caltech students. RBA demoed the existing small rooms to create a large lab space and study environment with the use of glass walls, bright colors, graphics, luxury vinyl tile, new carpet, and an open ceiling. In addition to these cosmetic changes, RBA installed non-bearing partitions and acoustical ceiling tiles in the offices and behavioral rooms. Upgraded mechanical, electrical, lighting, and lab equipment plumbing systems were also installed. RBA was able to finish this project within 7 months while the building remained active and occupied. Additionally, this project was recognized for Design Excellence for Educational Interiors by the AIA Pasadena and Foothill chapter.
